Below you will find the changes we have made in the drop off and pick up procedures. Please, take a few minutes to read the new changes before the first day of school.

Car Rider Procedures

Dear NRC Families: Due to the growth of our school and our desire to maintain the safest environment for our students, a committee of administrators, parents, teachers, and representatives from the Shawnee Police Department met to discuss the safest way to drop-off and pick-up students on campus. After considering all of the options, the committee decided that the new procedures listed below would be the best way to minimize long lines on Garrett’s Lake Road and keep our students safe while loading and unloading vehicles. If you have any questions, please contact your building principal.

Morning Procedures

• Morning Walk-Up Options:

7:30-7:45 Please, park in the gravel parking lot south of the playground and escort your child to the cafeteria.

7:45-8:05 Parents may park in the gravel or paved parking if you wish to walk your child into school.

• Morning Drop-Off Option:

7:30-8:05 Drop-off has now been moved to the back of the elementary building. Please, turn north off of Garretts Lake Road onto the Middle School drive. Turn right (north of the playground) and the drop-off will be

located by the north east awning of the elementary (formally known as the bus canopy).

Students arriving after 8:05 will need to be checked in at the Elementary or Intermediate Office by their parent/guardian.

Afternoon Procedures

At this time, we will not be able to provide an afternoon walk up option. Beginning at 2:30, families may begin to start lining up for afternoon pick ups. Pick-up will be located at the same location as morning drop-off.

The drive located at the front of the elementary will be reserved for buses only.
